Where To Spend A Sunny Afternoon Before The Summer Heat Hits

Temperatures are predicted to rise to 90 degrees later this week. It’s time to get outside and enjoy the weather before a Texas-sized heat wave hits. After last week’s Best of BubbleLife survey, we have a list of places to spend a warm afternoon. So grab the kiddos, pack a picnic lunch and try these outdoor facilities!

Andy Brown Trails

The city of Coppell has been dedicated to building a local trail system since 1993, when the master plan for the trails was developed. Now, the trails span approximately seven miles, beginning along Denton Creek. Ultimately, the trails will lead to other parts of the community, linking parts of Coppell together.

White Rock Lake

This scenic lake is the pride and joy of Lakewood and Lake Highlands residents. Recently, developers attempted to build a restaurant near White Rock, and lake-area residents demanded they drop the plans. Community members refuse to taint the lake because it’s become an iconic landmark of East Dallas.

Towne Lake

Towne Lake in McKinney isn’t an ordinary outdoor recreation area. This 22-acre lake is a spectacle that features a beautiful view and a bronze statue that reads “Memories.” The lake is the perfect place to spend a warm afternoon with the family because it includes a fishing pier and paddle boat rentals.
