A new Walmart store opened today in Haslet, after a brief ribbon-cutting ceremony at 7:30 a.m. The new store at 2401 Avondale-Haslet Road is conveniently located off Highway 287 and is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It will provide Haslet residents with one-stop shopping convenience for their grocery and general merchandise needs. The store also offers pharmacy services.

“Hardly a day goes by wherein the city doesn’t get a call inquiring about the progress of the construction or requesting information about the opening date for this Haslet Walmart,” said Haslet Mayor Bob Golden. “This store is a most welcome addition to our community, and I am certain that this will be a win-win for both Walmart and for those of us that will shop there.” 

One-Stop Shopping Convenience

The store features quality, value-priced general merchandise, including apparel, electronics, toys, sporting goods, and lawn and garden items. It also offers a full line of groceries, including organic and natural selections in addition to local favorites.   

The pharmacy offers a full range of products and services. Pharmacy team members can answer product and prescription questions and offer health and wellness solutions.

Community Giving

The grand-opening celebration also includes presentations of $9,000 in grants from Walmart and the Walmart Foundation to local community groups. Grant recipients include the Fort Worth Junior Golf Foundation, Haslet Public Library, J.C. Thompson Elementary PTA, Lifepoint Church and Prairie View Elementary School.

New Store, New Jobs

The new store employs approximately 300 full- and part-time associates. Store manager Boyd Green began his Walmart career in 2000 as a store manager.

“I’m really looking forward to bringing this new Walmart Supercenter to the area while also getting a chance to meet and connect with our new customers,” said Green. “We welcome everyone to our grand-opening celebration to enjoy everything from sampling and giveaways to entertainment, and to step inside our new store to see the easy-to-shop layout and savings we offer on everyday products.”

A Big Family Welcome

Walmart is happy to be part of the Haslet community and is ready to celebrate with residents on Saturday, Oct. 5. A Big Family Welcome will give customers a chance to meet Green and enjoy fun family activities such as face painting, cupcake decorating and free food samples while supplies last.
