Mom, What Are You Worth?

Imagine this scenario for a minute.

Two mothers are discussing the joys and challenges of raising children and helping to provide for a family, only they're approaching the subject from two completely different perspectives.

Working mothers might say something along these lines: "Well, at least you don't have to go to work every day" to a stay-at-home mom. This statement usually doesn't go over too well because it carries with it a lot of implications. (By the way, there are a few other things stay-at-home moms say are offensive).

Even as a young, single woman years away from having kids of my own, I've heard this exchange play out plenty of times.

The folks over at creditcardinsider.com thought it would be interesting to apply monetary value to mothers who stay home with their children. They sent along an infographic depicting the amount of money full-time stay-at-home moms should actually earn, given all the duties they perform and the number of hours they spend cultivating happy, healthy households (hint: It's $59,862.30).

Needless to say, it is fascinating, and we thought it too important not to share with our readers. The results might surprise you...
