Bob Gill will not seek election to the position of Tarrant County Criminal District Attorney

“I am announcing today that I will not file for the office of Tarrant County District Attorney.  Over the past months I have been humbled and most grateful for the outpouring of support I have received.  I cannot thank people enough for honoring me with their endorsements and support.

However, after 31 years of dedicated public service, I find myself less than fully committed to continuing with this career.  Consequently, I have made a heartfelt  decision that will enable me to spend more time on family and private interests.  While my years of serving the people of Tarrant County as a judge and as a criminal prosecutor has been a fulfilling life’s work; it is time that my family come first.

Tarrant County deserves a strong, experienced District Attorney who is capable of keeping our neighborhoods safe and dangerous criminals off our streets.  It is a position of critical importance to the people of our county and must be held by someone who can give the role their undivided attention.  The people of Tarrant County deserve no less.”
